8 Weight Loss Breakfast Recipes to Start Your Day Right
By Mediterranean Living
Updated July 24, 2024
Here are 8 of our favorite weight loss breakfast recipes to start your day off right! The age-old wisdom holds up… breakfast is, indeed, the most important meal of the day. And for weight loss, the importance of a healthy breakfast is even greater.
Why? Well, as most of us have probably experienced, when we skip breakfast we tend to snack and overeat later in the day. In America, breakfast is the least sacred of meals and this explains why the Standard American Diet has minimal healthy breakfast options. Typical American breakfasts are ultra-processed and made with poor quality ingredients that spike our blood sugar and do little for our bodies.
A good breakfast for weight loss consists of sustaining ingredients that are high in healthy fats, protein and fiber. These weight loss breakfast recipes below will help keep you energized throughout the day. They all follow the principles of a traditional Mediterranean Diet while being modified for weight loss.
